Blog Entry Nine: Compare and Contrast

Britney Spears Perfume

 Fantasy: Britney’s very distinct perfume worn by millions of women is refined from a flowery smell joining with a blend of fruits, jasmine, and heliotropes paired with low notes of cedar vanilla and musk. This perfume takes on the shape of a plum as its perfectly round shape gives off a fat stubby look. You could cup this bottle in your hand like a softball as you wrap your fingers around its physique. Its deep fuchsia glass contains hints of sparkle in its paint, giving off a slight shine when the light hits it just right. The bottle is then pricked by beautiful green rhinestones, particularly placed around the glass. The mouth of the bottle is bedazzled with a two lines of green sparkly stones that weave through each other, accenting the tip of the bottle. Topped off is the cap of the perfume which resembles a big blown up piece of bubble gum that is about to pop. This sweet smelling perfume is the perfect way to escape to your own fantasy.  

In Control: Following Fantasy is Brittney’s third perfume In Control which takes a very different approach in its molecular design. Its sexy mixture of loquate fruit, midnight orchid, crème brulee, black vanilla bean, tonka crystals, and sandalwood all give off an attitude of confidence and independence. Its mysterious black body with hot pink accents represent the ultra-sexy woman. The bottle could almost resemble a woman with its sleek design. The disk shape housing this confidence booster resembles the twirl of the skirt of a woman at her best. Then the hot pink “In Control” chain dangling from the neck of the bottle acts as a necklace that contrasts the dark body. The cap includes a long pink tub connecting the little bubble with frilly strings hanging off the tip which accent the perfume perfectly. One spray is all you need to feel romantically pink and dangerously black. Then you will be truly in control.

Although these two perfumes smell very different and have quite unique designs, they both make the woman feel confident and secure. Britney Spear’s scents are soft and calming, yet seductive and mysterious. Both Fantasy and In Control allow the woman to feel completely different as an aroma of fearlessness surrounds her.  Their molecular make and physical design may vary, but their purposes are one in the same. Confidence.
